Grips

VP began to offer handlebar grips in 2015. Work was quickly done to produce a lineup of grips with unique features and clean styling, while hitting all the categories VP supplies. Later designs added increased ergonomic features to round out the catalog. Models were built in families to minimize tooling costs.

VP-C51 CLEAT

Teaching an Old Product New Tricks

Honestly, the existing C01 cleat was derivative of other products on the market. When tasked with updating the geometry to improve binding engagment, Zang decided to take the opportunity to add unique function to make it truly innovative. By adding a bowtie-shaped washer slot and carefully sculpted sole-interface, we were able to make the first MTB cleat with true angle adjustment, allowing riders to fit their unique stance with ease. Standard hardware, universal shoe fitment, & happy knees; all with no added cost.

VP FORKS

Jason worked with VP’s team to design forks and fork components. This included a lot of FEA-driven design. With ever-changing target specs, these projects demanded a lot of quick rebuilding skills and fast turnaround time on testing as the shapes evolved.

Modus Hubs

Modus, VP's sister company, specializes in hubs and wheel sets.  Jason worked with Modus engineers, taking their mechanical design and optimizing products for various categories.  CNC outlines, colorway creation, laser art design, and rim graphics were created to enhance the product catalog and deliver products that meet the strict weight and price needs of Modus customers.

Bebop Cleat Spacer

The Bebop clipless pedal was designed in a time when carbon-soled shoes were a rarity. When compatibility problems with certain high-end shoes became apparent, a safe, easy-to-implement solution was needed.  We devised the Bebop Cleat Spacer as an inexpensive way to eliminate the problems that required no additional change to the existing hardware.
